It's that time! Sure, Halloween is over a week away, but for singers? It's Yuletide, baby! We've been at work on Christmas songs for a couple of weeks already, and we had our first joint rehearsal with Sound Harmony Chorus last night to really get ready for our upcoming holiday show! We don't have official photos yet, but we couldn't help but shout out the news -- Rain City Voices got THIRD place at this weekend's Evergreen District of the Barbershop Harmony Society convention! This weekend is off to an amazing start! We're so proud of the RCV folks who took part in Harmony Platoon this weekend in Surrey! We had well over a dozen chorus members participating, singing in pick-up quartets with other Evergreen District of the Barbershop Harmony Society members in friendly quartet competitions. We had a guest at rehearsal this week who discovered the chorus because his partner happened across the chorus singing in Carkeek Park a couple of weeks ago for our 75th anniversary celebration! We had our last Harmony Platoon prep session this weekend. Thanks to Andy and Kristi for hosting us all platoon season long and for our extra-special BBQ afterglow session to end our monthly meetings. So much fun and good singing! Yesterday was a two-fer for a VLQ from the chorus! We started the day at Aegis Living serenading guests at their Great Summer Social! We split our time between the folks in the memory care unit and the crowd outdoors -- you couldn't ask for a more beautiful day. Thanks for inviting us! Our Platoon crew got together yesterday to stay fresh on this year's Harmony Platoon songs! And we happened to have two folks on each part, which made our quartet reps very smooth. Thanks to Andy for being ready on 3 (THREE!) parts so that we can almost always sing four-part harmony, and cheers to everybody for the representing RCV big-time this year on the EVG platoon stages!

You know who's not always pictured in our chorus photos? The guy taking the chorus photos. Topher, our VP of Marketing, puts a heroic level of energy into documenting the chorus, capturing amazing / hilarious moments, and keeping us all in good spirits. During our week at Harmony University, he even created photo packets for each singer (and coach!) to memorialize the week. He's one of a kind, and we appreciate him so much! This Tuesday, members of the chorus participated in National Night Out, visiting block parties to bring music and cheer to the neighborhood! Thanks to quartets Top of the Hill (pictured) and FourEver Young, along with a VLQ of chorus members, for sharing with the community! After our rehearsal, we had a fun crowd for afterglow. It's great to be a Rain City Voice!

"If you've done it once, that's the standard!" That's the saying of the week in our three hour coaching sessions! We're excited to put that into our performance on Friday night at University of Denver !

RCV & VCR! We had a small group compete in tonight's tag contest at Harmony U. Our group titled "VCR" won Best Chorus. We've officially made it as an "Award" Winning Chorus!
